How far can a life fall before redemption becomes impossible?
And what happens when God steps into the darkest places — even inside a prison cell?
In today’s Crazy Way testimony, filmed deep in the northeast of Brazil, we meet Guttenberg, a man whose story is as raw as it is miraculous. Speaking from CEPUD, a Christian drug-rehabilitation centre, he opens up about the life that led him there — a life tangled in drugs, bank robberies, corrupt police, violence, and a decade behind bars.
What begins with teenage addiction spirals into something far more dangerous: running with a group of heavily armed criminals, men responsible for murders and major bank heists. Guttenberg gained money, status and power… but he lost everything that mattered.
After serving a 10 year prison sentence, it looked like his story might end there — but instead, the real battle started when he confronted the chains of drug addiction that followed him back into the world. That fight brought him to CEPUD, and it was there, surrounded by faith, discipline, and love, that God began to rebuild what was broken.
Today, Guttenberg isn’t just clean. He’s helping others find the same freedom he found — guiding men, rescuing lives, and discovering his purpose in the very place he once resisted.
This testimony shows that no matter how deep the pit, no matter how destructive the path, grace can still reach you. And sometimes, the people who once caused harm become the ones who heal.
